Mike and I decided to read a chapter of the Book of Mormon each night. It’s been great to read with him and talk a little about each chapter after we read it. When we got to 1 Nephi 7: 21, I was blown away. Nephi, who was bound with cords by his brothers and whose death was being planned by them, FRANKLY forgave his brothers. I find that amazing. I know I’ve never been bound by anyone and I find it hard to forgive sometimes. How does one get to a point in their life where they can forgive someone when they have wronged you so drastically? Charity is my first thought, but easier said than done. Nephi was a great man who had the pure love of Christ.
The missionaries came over to our house to practice the first lesson. They filled the home with the Spirit and I’m so glad they came. I loved my mission and often forget how much I love teaching and being taught by the missionaries. I know this blog is about our travels…but I couldn’t help but say something about my great experiences with the gospel these past few weeks.
Other news:
I was asked today if I had a job for the summer. A parent of one of my kiddos told me about a job opening for this little daycare for the summer and she said she immediately thought of me when she heard about the opening, which was quite flattering. Though I love kids, I’d still rather go to Yellowstone. It’s nice to know the parents see that I genuinely care about their kids and want them to succeed.
